About "Flow" | This antique screen was used to print patterns on textiles and serves as a reminder to find beauty in the journey of transformation. The porous nature presented very unique challenges where I had to paint in a multidimensional technique with reverse layering (similar to painting on the back of glass). The colorful pattern is painted on the backside of the screen with the blue flowers painted over  on the front of the screen. 

This work is an exploration of how a tool of creation can become the art itself.  So often we focus on the end result without appreciating the beauty of the process. With rusty bolts and handles still intact, it's truly a unique item.
